FM Hearing Assistant System

Because existing hearing aids is consisted of only microphone and speaker that include inside hearing aids, the user can hear only surrounding sound. But, this FM Hearing Assistant System can receive & hear the radio sound, which is resent from Transmission part, except existing hearing aids' function. This can hear only performance substance without surrounding noise at performance in the concert hall or theaters, theater etc..So, Deaf & Hard of hearing people can catch more correct contents. Also you can hear correct substance in conference hall or church, lecture room etc..

Various input selection

This can choose four input function of wireless reception (AUDIO), airwaves radio (RADIO), outside input (AUX), microphone(MIC). Specially the user can listen to FM radio of general broadcasting station through airwaves radio. So, it solved the inconvenience,which deaf & hard of hearing people should suffer when they listen to FM radio.

Use of 2 channels(left/right) output earphone

Existing Hearing aids has used only one side as MONO method, but this system output the sound to 2 channel(left/right), so the user hear more clear & certain sound.

Separate Left/Right volume adjustment function

Because can adjust 2 each channel volumes separately, the user, who right and left's hearing differs, can adjust & hear the sound according to individual's right and left hearing.

Equalizer function

Equalizer function is the function that adjust the level following in frequency (low,mid,high) that a person can hear.
According to a person, the frequency's area, which they can hear, can differ. So, it has the function, which can adjust the frequency of 4 kinds (500Hz (low), 1 KHz (mid), 2.5 KHz (mid/high), 4 KHz (high) separately. It can adjust the level according to user's hearing characteristic.

Microphone mixing function

Because while the user hear AUDIO, RADIO, AUX (outside input) and simultaneously the microphone, which included inside this goods, is operated, so the user can hear the conversation with surroundings people or surrounding sound.

Reset function

When the units is be off, turn on it's power while pressing and holding input selection switch (I). Then it is reset.

Shape & Layout

(The indicated number in picture & the indicated number in following contents are correspond)

1. Power switch
   OFF : The goods isn't operated.
   ON : The goods is operated.
   HOLD: The goods is operated, but only Volume switch (Button ) can
   be operated. (Other switches aren't be operated.)
2. LCD display
   It displays the operation state of goods.(See page 8.)
3. Volume switch, Broadcasting station's channel memory switch (▲/▼)
   1. (1) Volume adjustment function
   : It adjusts the sound level, which is output to earphone.
   (2) Equalizer function
   : It adjusts sound's output level, which corresponds to frequency,
   2. Broadcasting channel memory function (Broadcasting frequency memory)
   : You can select wishful channels (01~20) with this switch
4. Channel/Frequency switch, Equalizer frequency switch, mic sound switch
   (◀/▶)

   1.Channel/Frequency selection: select wireless reception channel (AUDIO)
   ▶(+): channel UP
   ◀(-): channel DOWN

   2.Frequency selection
   : select airwaves broadcasting station's frequency or channel.
   ▶(+): memorized channel or frequency UP
   ◀(-): memorized channel or frequency DOWN

   3.Equalizer frequency : select frequency in user mode (U1,U2,U3) of equalizer.
   ▶(+): frequency UP
   ◀(-): frequency DOWN

   4. When input selection is in MIC, adjusts microphone input sound
   ▶(+): mic sound UP
   ◀(-): mic sound DOWN

5. Input selection switch (I)
   It selects sound source, which is input.
   AUDIO: select the input, which is resent by wireless from Transmission part
   RADIO: select input of airwaves Radio broadcasting
   AUX (outside input): select the signal, which is input through outside input jack
   MIC: select the signal, which is input through built-in microphone
   ** Whenever press this switch, it progress in following order.
   AUDIO-RADIO-AUX-MIC-AUDIO..
   
   If you press this switch over 1 second, the signal, that input selected signal and built-in mic signal is mixed, is output. If you press this switch again over 1 second, microphone mixing function is canceled.

6. Mode switch (M)
   It select Equalizer, User's equalizer, Output sound level (Left/Right).
   ** Whenever press this switch, it progress following order.
   P1-P2-P3-P4-P5-U1-U2-U3-P1..
   P1-P5: basically built-in equalizer mode
   U1-U3: equalizer mode, which the user can set
   
   If you press this switch over 1 second, the user can adjust the sound's loudness left/right separately. If you press this switch over 1 second in mic mixing function, you can adjust mic level.

7. SET switch / Preset switch (S)
   (1) Set
   In user's equalizer mode (U1-U3), press this switch when adjust the level following in frequency.
   (2) Preset (press more than 1 second)
   When the input selection is in RADIO, if you press this switch more than 1 second,
   it performs pre-scan function (selection of the memorized broadcasting).
   ("PS" displays in LCD display).

8. Earphone Mic jack
   The user can hear the sound by inserting plug of earphone.

9. AUX jack
   It is jack, which connect external input (output of video, a television or small audio).

10. A-OUT jack
    It is output jack,which do as can connect output signal with Vibrating bodily sensation device (or outside audio device).

11. DC input jack
    It is connection jack with power adaptor. Please use Adaptor, that is supplied as accessories.
    

12. Battery cover
    It's used batteries are 4 X AAA batteries. At battery installation, please confirm battery's polarity certainly. Please use same kinds' batteries and specially don't use battery for charge and general battery at the same time.
    
    
13. Necklace fixing hall
    It is a hall which fix necklace. Please fix and use earphone-mic, which offered as accessories.

LCD icon layout

1. Input selection
   It is displayed selected input.
   AUDIO, RADIO, AUX, MIC, MIC-M
2. Channel, Frequency, Volume
   (1) In AUDIO(the sound from Transmitter), selected channel is displayed.
   (2) In RADIO(airwaves radio), frequency of selected Radio broadcasting is displayed.
   (3) Volume of output sound is displayed in figures.
   Big figures of left display left side's sound, small figures of right side display the sound of right side. In user's equalizer mode, it is displayed selected frequency
3. Output sound's volume display
   It is displayed output sound's volume.
4. Equalizer mode
   It is displayed selected equalizer mode.
5. Selection of memorized Radio broadcasting
   In selection of the memorized RADIO broadcasting beforehand, it is displayed.
6. Battery Residual quantity of battery is registered.
   Remains of battery is displayed.
   If the battery power is low, the outer block of battery flickers.
   Then, please replace the battery with new one.

General operation

1. Audio(when hear the contents from transmitter)

Select AUDIO by pressing input selection switch (I). Select channel so that is same channel of transmitter by pressing channel/frequency selection switch(◀/▶) If the channel of Transmitter that wish to hear is �03�, select the channel �03� in Complex hearing aids. Adjust the output sound level by pressing volume switch(▲/▼).

2. RADIO (when airwaves FM Radio broadcasting)

Select RADIO by pressing input selection switch (I). Select Radio frequency that wish to hear by pressing channel/frequency selection switch(◀/▶) . If you want to select memorized Radio frequency, press Set/Free set switch (S) more than 1 second. (To cancel, press again it more than 1 sec) Adjust the output sound level by pressing volume switch(▲/▼).

3. AUX (external input)

Connect external input with AUX input jack ( Item9 of above-described shape & layout ) Select AUX by pressing input selection switch (I). Adjust the output sound level by pressing volume switch(▲/▼).

4. MIC (Microphone)

Select MIC by pressing input selection switch (I). Adjust microphone input sound by pressing microphone sound adjustment switch(◀/▶). Adjust the output sound level by pressing volume switch(▲/▼).

Operation of main function

1. Separate Volume adjustment of Left/Right(L/R) channel

Except adjustment of Left/Right's output level simultaneously, it is possible to adjust Left/Right (L/R)'s output level separately Press mode switch(M) more than 1 sec. Then, outer block of output sound indicator flickers. Select the channel by pressing mode switch(M). (It displays selected channel : L (Left), R (Right), L/R Adjust the output sound level by pressing volume switch(▲/▼). Set wishful output level by repeating Item ②-③. If it's setting is finished, press mode switch (M) more than 1 sec. Then it turns back to general function.

2-1. Microphone mixing fucntion

You can hear mixing sound of wishful input sound & microphone sound, which is in this goods. (When it's input is in MIC, it doesn't operated) Select input that wish to hear by pressing input selection switch(I). Press input selection switch (I) more than 1 sec. Adjust the output sound level by pressing volume switch(▲/▼). It is heard selected input sound & the surrounding sound, that is input to internal microphone at the same time. To cancel mic mixing function, press input selection switch (I) more than 1 sec.

** Note : Do not use microphone mixing function when use of Vibrating bodily sensation device. (When Complex hearing aids and Vibrating bodily sensation device are within 50cm)

2-2. Adjustment of mic input level in mic mixing function

Select MIC mixing mode by pressing input selection switch (I) more than 1 sec . To adjust mic level, press mode switch (M) more than 1 sec. Adjust the output sound level by pressing volume switch(▲/▼). (▲) switch : mic sound level UP (▼) switch : mic sound level DOWN To cancel level adjustment function, press mode switch (M) more than 1 sec again.

3. Equalizer adjustment

It is possible to hear optimum sound by controlling the sound level following in wishful frequency (Low, Mid, Mid/High, High) of the user.

1) Equalizer preset mode
P1-P5 : basically built-in equalizer mode
P1-P5 Frequency's features are as follows ;
P1: FLAT (There is no change of volume by frequency
P2: Low sound amplification
P3: Mid sound amplification
P4: High sound decrease
P5: High sound amplification

2) User's Equalizer mode
U1-U3 : The user can adjust frequency & level and memorize it.

3) How to operate

Selection of equalizer preset mode/user's equalizer mode Select wishful equalizer mode by pressing mode switch(M). Whenever press mode switch(M), it progress following order. P1-P2-P3-P4-P5-U1-U2-U3-P1..

Setting method of User's equalizer mode The user can select Frequency (Low; 500Hz, Mid : 1KHz, Mid/High : 2.5KHz, High : 4KHz). It is available to select Left/Right separately. Select wishful mode among U1-U3 by pressing mode switch(M). Press Set/Preset switch(S). Frequency(500Hz) is displayed in LCD. If you press mode switch(M) long, the outer block of output sound indicator flickers. Also it will be Left/Right selection state.

If you pres mode switch(M) shortly, can select output of Left/Right. (Order: Left(L),Right (R ), Left/Right(L/R)) Adjust to the wishful level by pressing volume switch(▲/▼). Press channel/frequency selection switch (▶). (Frequency 1KHz is displayed in LCD) - Mid sound adjustment Adjust to the wishful level by pressing volume switch(▲/▼). Adjust Mid/High sound (2.5KHz) & High sound (4KHz) by operating above described Item ③ - ⑦ If it's adjustment is finished, press Set/Preset switch (S). Selected User's equalizer mode (U1-U3) is stored.

4. Selection of memorized Radio broadcasting (Airwaves FM Radio memory)

1) Memory of Radio broadcasting frequency in wishful channel(1-20)

<To memory automatically> Select RADIO by pressing input selection switch (I) Press Set/Preset switch(S) for over 1 sec. - FM Broadcasting frequency memory mode If you press channel/frequency selection switch (▶) long (more than 1 sec.), FM broadcasting station is memorized automatically as frequency rises.

<To memory by hand-operated > Select RADIO by pressing input selection switch (I) . Press Set/Preset switch(S) more than 1 sec. ? FM Broadcasting frequency memory mode If you press channel/frequency selection switch (◀) long, it becomes FM broadcasting station's hand-operated memory mode. ("PS" icon in LCD flickers.) Select channel that wish to memory by pressing volume switch(▲,▼). (1-20) Select frequency of broadcasting station that wish to memory, by pressing broadcasting frequency selection switch (◀,▶) . Store it in broadcasting memory channel by pressing Set/Preset switch(S). To save frequency of other broadcasting station, repeat above-described Item ④-⑥. If you complete save action and do general operation, press Set switch (S) more than 1 sec.

2) To select broadcasting station, that is memorized beforehand to channel

<To memory by hand-operated > Select RADIO by pressing input selection switch (I) . Press Set/Preset switch(S) more than 1 sec. ? FM Broadcasting frequency memory mode If you press channel/frequency selection switch (◀) long, it becomes FM broadcasting station's hand-operated memory mode. ("PS" icon in LCD flickers.) Select channel that wish to memory by pressing volume switch(▲,▼). (1-20) Select frequency of broadcasting station that wish to memory, by pressing broadcasting frequency selection switch (◀,▶) . Store it in broadcasting memory channel by pressing Set/Preset switch(S). To save frequency of other broadcasting station, repeat above-described Item ④-⑥. If you complete save action and do general operation, press Set switch (S) more than 1 sec.

5. Vibrating bodily sensation device

This goods has output jack (Shape & layout 10) , that can connect with Vibrating bodily sensation device.
Connect output jack with Vibrating bodily sensation device's input jack by connection code and makes power of amplifier do ON and adjust it's volume to suitable position. And then you can experience it's vibration according to output sound.

**When connect vibrating bodily sensation device, choose input selection of complex hearing aids among other input except MIC.
